This is the story of my adventures in Yellowknife, NWT. I'll try to present an unbiased tale of the exciting events that happen as I experience life in the Great Canadian North.

Successful Completion of Lake Kayak Level I

This is me in my kayaking duds at NARWAL (Visit Narwal's site for more informationwhen we came back from our final lesson ... although it may appear that I'm silly looking I actually look pro with my wetsuit, wetsuit boots, skirt, paddling jacket and whitewater PFD. Unfortunately, possessing all the proper gear does not a paddler make. My class went well and there was only one near tip (and believe me the water is really cold and you really don't want to tip). I'm off on a full day paddle on Saturday. I'm pretty excited about it but a bit afraid too- 2 hours of paddling just about does me in I don't know how I'm going to handle 8! Of other note, I'm not pregnant and I haven't gotten fat, I have the arms of my wetsuit tied under my skirt. I have a really great O'neill 6/3 and I can wear just the jane when its warm or pull up the top when its chilly. The funny face I'm making can be attributed to the fact that I was being attacked by the vampire mosquitos while this picture was being taken.  Posted by Hello
