Sarah's Yellowknife Adventures

This is the story of my adventures in Yellowknife, NWT. I'll try to present an unbiased tale of the exciting events that happen as I experience life in the Great Canadian North.

Paddling with the Paddling club

Yose organized a little excursion for the paddling club today. We started out at NARWAL and headed north along on the West side of back bay to the mouth of the Yellowknife River. Once the 5 of us got to the Yellowknife River Day Use Area we got a fire going and cooked some smokies and ate some potatoe salad. I have to say that by far my favourite part of the smokie is that it bursts open when its finished cooking. We then paddled back to Backbay, cut through to Yellowknife Bay to look at the Houseboats and then went back to Narwal. Although they were forecasting rain, the water was calm and the skies were blue. The temperture was over 20C and I managed to get a paddlers tan (similar to a farmers tan but tanlines from my life jacket.) I am proud to say that my kayak steered straight as an arrow (at least most of the time).  Posted by Picasa
