Sarah's Yellowknife Adventures

This is the story of my adventures in Yellowknife, NWT. I'll try to present an unbiased tale of the exciting events that happen as I experience life in the Great Canadian North.

Somba K'e Paddling Club Expedition Number 1.

Row, Row, Row your boat gently down the stream...
There were 4 canoes and 2 kayaks that made the journey from Cassidy Point, to Tartan Rapids and then down the Yellowknife River (to the Yellowknife River Day Use Area). It took us approximately 20 minutes from Cassidy to the Rapids and then 2.5 hours from the Rapids to the Day use area. See the links below for more information...

Some people shot the rapids and others portaged around them but all had a good time. There was a bit of a head wind going down the river but the sun was shining, the sky was blue, the temperature was warm (at one point I was even in a tank-tops) and the bugs were tolerable.
